European’s Welfare Association CIC (EWA CIC) is a community-led organisation providing holistic support to Central and Eastern European migrants in the West Midlands in the areas of education and culture, immigration support, and community outreach.
Our roots go back to the founding of a Polish supplementary school in Walsall in September 2009. From the very beginning we have been passionate about serving our community by providing a place of learning and nurture, whilst embedding ourselves within the fabric of local society. Our mission centres on providing a platform for amplifying migrant voices and building social connections. Our core values of education, community empowerment, and cultural enrichment are at the forefront of everything we do. We do this through the delivery of a high-quality service for both our community and broader local society in the West Midlands. Following such efforts we are proud to say that in 2017 we received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.
EWA CIC was established in June 2013 following the merger of two community organisations: Midlands Polish Community Centre (MPCC) and Polish Artists in London (PAIL). The main purpose of this union was to combine various threads of community work being done by dedicated leaders. Over the years our organisation has provided a holistic service, ranging from the education of children through our supplementary school, to social engagement with local authorities and charities, as well as advice and guidance services which support the most vulnerable members of our community. We continue to do this work with the same passion and dedication we felt in 2009.
